About
Hi! I’m Alex
Welcome to my geek lifestyle
I’m the definition of a geek. I love comics, tabletop games, video games, music of all kinds, toys, and I watch a lot of movies and cartoons. When I was a kid, I drew my own comic books. I listened to Adam Sandler albums and the Southpark soundtrack. I taught my daughter chess at the age of 6. I played Magic the Gathering religiously in high school. Yep, I’m a nerd and proud of it!
I’m a child of the 80’s which allowed me to see the real beginning of geek technology and how it evolved to what it is today. Growing up in the 80s and 90s also fuels my fondness for retro gear and media but where many people age and stick with what they grew up with, I continued to be infatuated with new music, games, and trends and that’s where I think my point of view can be interesting to geeks of all ages

Frequently Asked Questions
1. When were you born?
I was born in 1982. I was only 8 when the 90s started so I don’t remember much of the 80s but I do remember the Atari, arcades, and wired landline phones.
2. How do you keep up with geek trends?
I work in a field where a big part of my job is to keep up with all trends, geeky or not. I keep a pulse on most things happening in the world. I also subscribe to many newsletters and I have geeky friends who do the same.
3. Are there any geeky things you don’t like?
None that I can really think of but I was a very late bloomer to Harry Potter and Star Wars. I actually didn’t like Star Wars until Disney’s Mandalorian but then I got into all of it and love it. I’ve also never played Dungeon’s and Dragons.
4. What kind of music do you like?
I like most types of music but my genre’s of choice are rap and heavy metal. But I enjoy pop, grunge, stoner rock, soul, and EDM too. I don’t like slow jazz or classical music. And I’m not too fond of country music either, but there are a few songs I like here and there.
